Description
An acrylic painting of my wife Margarita and our daughter Nico.
I had seen a Jacques Cousteau show on the octopus. Cousteau pointed out these creatures have large brains and a sizable brain/body mass ratio. He demonstrated they are very clever animals. "So why haven't they built civilizations?" he asked.
He noted an octopus will not pass on its acquired knowledge to its children.
Mammals, in contrast, pass what they know to their kids. Knowledge is accumulated through the generations.
Thus it is the bond between mother and child that enables man to touch the stars.
