These monkey tessellations are based on the equilateral triangle tile. The monkeys leave their regimented two dimensional existence, climb an octet structure and leap into the air spreading their arms in exultation. Then they return to their daily grind.
The octet structure they are playing on is made from alternating octahedra and tetrahedra bricks. Unlike conventional rectangular bricks, these have triangular faces.
I've hidden stuff in the painting's texture. Detail may be seen at [link]
This is an amazing painting with really well done tessellation. You need some sort of award or something prestigious like that. I love the intricacy of the bricks.

We move in circles.
Balanced all the while,
On a gleaming razor's edge.
A perfect sphere,
Colliding with our fate.
This story ends where it began.
Thanks! I have been blown away by the planetary and space scapes I've seen on D.A. And your work stands out in this strong community. Have you made tutorials?
If you can find someone with a ^ in front of their name that likes it, it might get a DD.
Saw your sketch pad page with Penrose triangles and geometrical designs. [link] . Nice comment on tessellations. I see them all over the place when I'm on the edge of dream space.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Please FULL VIEW all these amazing pieces of ART. Visit the artists pages and give them a :+fav and your support. Thank you for taking the time........
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example.
